On July 5th, 2019 at 6:00 a.m., Patrick Mayfield of Toccoa, Georgia finished his watch while in North Carolina, with family by his side.
He was born in Toccoa, Georgia, to Azelle and Barbara (Gaines) Mayfield on September 9, 1966. He married Lisa Butler in a ceremony in the park on September 1, 1990. He was previously employed with the Toccoa Police Department and currently worked with the Habersham County Sheriffs Department as a School Resource Officer.
While he was a Coach for many years and at many different levels both in the community and abroad, he currently worked as Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Habersham Central High School. His infectious laugh and contagious smile were well known. His big heart was filled with generosity and kindness. He was a gadget guy always wanting to show his toys to the kids, or awe them by turning his patrol lights on.
He made a deep and lasting impact on all who were privileged to share his path.
Patrick is survived by his wife Lisa Mayfield; two sons, Seddrick Mayfield and Devon Mayfield; and his two nearly perfect grandkids, Joaquin Mayfield and Kelaiah Mayfield; his Mother, Barbara Mayfield; and brothers Todd (Mechelle) Mayfield and Doug Mayfield. Lovingly included are numerous Aunts, Uncle, and Cousins. Patrick is preceded in death by his Father, Azelle Mayfield.
Receiving of friends will be at Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home on Friday, July 12th, 2019 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The service will be on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Habersham Central High School Auditorium. Interment will follow at Toccoa City Cemetery.
Feel free to express your condolences with flowers, or consider donating toys for kids for Christmas in honor and memory of Patrick. His heart was extra big at Christmas! You may drop toys by the Habersham County Sheriffs Office to Miranda or Kelly from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Participate in continuing the tradition of helping Patrick light up the faces of these children at Christmas!
