The man wanted for dragging a Barrow County deputy with his vehicle narrowly escaped capture in Habersham.
Baldwin Police were dispatched around 9 a.m. Saturday to a location where Samuel Brock was reportedly spotted. Officers located the subject at the BP station on Charlie Davis Road, according to a post on the Baldwin PD’s Facebook page. “The subject ran on foot and a perimeter was established, but unfortunately he was able to get a ride out of the area,” the post states.
Brock is wanted on several felony warrants, including one for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. That charge stems from the alleged incident with the deputy on the night of April 27.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office says the officer was working with the Georgia State Patrol at a traffic checkpoint when Brock pulled up in a car. As Brock was being checked for outstanding warrants, the officer attempted to remove him from the vehicle. That’s when, officials say, Brock accelerated and dragged the deputy for a short distance. The deputy sustained minor injuries.
If you see Brock or know where he is police ask you to call 911 immediately.
