Rhea Mabel Turner Scribner, age 83 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 following a brief illness.

Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on September 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Paul James Turner & the late Mabel Ray Fry. Mrs. Scribner was a homemaker, a former licensed insurance agent, and worked with the American Red Cross for over 10 years. She and her mother Mabel, restored the former Swain Clinic to establish “The Charm House” Bed & Breakfast in Clarkesville, Georgia. Mrs. Scribner was also an accomplished author, painter, and poet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James “Jimmy” Turner & step-father, Freeman Fry.
Survivors include her loving husband of 20 years, Richard S. Scribner of Cornelia, GA; son, Greg Halferty of St. Petersburg, FL; son & son-in-law, Paul & Daniel King-Allen of Alpharetta, GA; step-daughter, Deborah Scribner of Columbus, GA; daughter-in-law, Laura Halferty of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, Phillip “Speedy” Barber of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Mary Scribner, Mary Elizabeth Allen, Olivia Allen, & Gray Dean.

A Celebration of Rhea’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the family home, 216 Valley Drive, Cornelia, GA. 30531.
