Habersham County is one step closer to getting its administrative operations under one roof.

Seven offices relocated from the old county courthouse to the new administration building off of the Toccoa Highway this weekend. The offices of Planning and Development, Human Resources, Commission/County Manager, Finance Department, Information Technology, Public Works, and Tax Assessor will open to the public in their new location on Monday.

The Habersham County Tax Commissioner and Elections and Registrations Office will move to the new administration building in April.

The Tax Commissioner’s Office will remain in the HEMC Annex Building located at 6257 State Hwy. 115 until April 5.

The elections office will remain in the basement of the Old Courthouse at 555 Monroe Street through mid-late April.

The Habersham County Administration Building is located at 130 Jacob’s Way in Clarkesville next to the Aquatic Center. It cost $6.5 million to build. The building was dedicated in December to coincide with Habersham’s bicentennial year.
