A child was lifeflighted to the hospital Saturday evening after a tree fell on them in a residential area in Cornelia.
Habersham County Emergency Services Director Chad Black says a hammock was tied to the tree when it fell.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. in a neighborhood off of Camp Creek Road. The child was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Officials have not released any other details.
A woman took to social media late Saturday thanking everyone for their prayers and saying the child is now home. Now Habersham has been unable to confirm that information but will continue to update this story as new information becomes available.
