Rabun County (19-18) had virtually no problem handling Armuchee on Wednesday, riding into the GHSA Class 2A State Quarterfinals on the coattails of a 3-0 win.
The Lady Wildcats, playing in their fourth straight state tournament and for the fifth time in six years, have been ranked as high as #5 in the state polls in 2A volleyball, and carry a 19-18 overall record into the Elite 8.
The next round pits #1-seeded Rabun to travel to #1 Harlem, thus ending the two-game playoff run at home. The Lady Cats took down Drew Charter 3-0 in the first round as well. Similarly, Harlem (17-11) earned 3-0 wins in the first two rounds, defeating Savannah Class Academy and then Temple.
The Elite 8 matches are scheduled for Saturday, October 27.
