Habersham County couple sought in connection with string of local burglaries

Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a man and woman wanted in connection with a string of local burglaries.

30-year-old Brian Glueckert and 33-year-old Sarah Bray may have been involved in as many as eleven heists in Habersham and Rabun counties.

A home surveillance camera captured video of the pair at a house that was burglarized on Lexington Lane in Rabun County. Sheriff’s investigators there identified the couple and tracked them to a house in Clarkesville. On Sept. 13, Rabun County Sheriff’s investigators attempted to serve arrest warrants on Bray and Glueckert.

The Clarkesville Police Department, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) assisted them.

In the process, police noticed items “in plain view” connected to recent burglaries in Clarkesville. They got a search warrant for the house and discovered “a very large quantity” of stolen property, says Clarkesville Police Chief Brad Barrett.

Items from five burglaries in Clarkesville and five in Habersham County were recovered, according to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.

While officials succeeded in recovering the stolen goods, they were unable to find Glueckert and Bray. The couple left before officers arrived.

Barrett says the investigation indicates more people may be involved.

Bray is 33 years old and lives in Mt. Airy. Glueckert is 30 and lives in Clarkesville, according to officials. Investigators took out arrest warrants on them for burglary and criminal damage to property.

Clarkesville Police issued a description of the suspects. Glueckert is a white male with green eyes and brown hair, approximately 5’10” and weighs 175 pounds. Bray is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She’s approximately 5’4″ and weighs 120 pounds.

If you recognize them and know where they might be found, please contact authorities to report them.
