Brad Hurst is more than just a kicker. He’s taken on all the assignments for special teams in which he can use the power and accuracy of his leg at Georgetown University.
The White County Warriors alum (c/o 2016) is in the midst of his junior year for the Hoyas, and has notched 3-of-6 field goals on the season, including a new career long of 45 yards against Campbell on September 8.
Hurst also serves as the kicker on extra points and kickoffs, as well as the punter. In 2018 through three games, he’s averaged 40.5 yards per punt on 17 attempts, including seven inside the 20.
To date, his career has seen him make 8-of-15 field goals. He’s totaled 96 punts for 3,964 yards (41.3 avg) with four touchbacks and 24 put down inside the 20. This also includes 15 career 50-plus yard punts.
Hurst has 16 career PATs and a two-point conversion to give him 42 career points. The Hoyas’ season-opener on September 1 at Marist saw Hurst be the recipient of a two-point conversion pass in the 39-14 win. He owns the third and fifth longest punts in Georgetown history with a 71-yd and 69-yd punt in 2017.
Hurst was an all-state honorable mention in 2015, and an all-region selection twice while helping the Warriors get to three straight state playoff appearances. He holds the White County record for career touchbacks, and was a four-time letterman in both football and basketball, and three-time letterman in soccer as well.
