Rick Austin photographed this gorgeous sunset in Demorest on Friday, September 14. The picture was taken some 12 hours after Hurricane Florence made landfall in North Carolina.
Austin, who serves as mayor of Demorest, says he waited 45 minutes for the color in the sky to develop. It was worth the wait. He captured the sky and the moon in a powerful image that illustrates a powerful truth: “There is beauty even in the midst of life’s storms,” Austin says.
