Toccoa Falls College receives national ranking

Toccoa Falls College (TFC) is one of several area colleges named to this year’s U.S. News & World Report Guide for Best Colleges. TFC ranked in three major categories: Best Regional Colleges in the South (#22), Best Value Colleges in the South (#11), and Best Colleges for Veterans in the South (#9).

The 2019 edition of the U.S. News Best Colleges guidebook offers comprehensive advice for high school students and their families on researching their college choices. The rankings evaluate colleges and universities on 16 measures of academic quality. They allow students to compare at a glance the relative quality of U.S. institutions based on such widely accepted indicators of excellence such as first-year student retention, graduation rates and the strength of the faculty.

The Carnegie classification, which higher education researchers use extensively, has been the basis of the Best Colleges ranking category system since the publication of its first rankings in 1983. Carnegie categories are the accepted standard in U.S. higher education.

“We’re thrilled to be once again recognized at a national level for the quality education we provide at TFC,” says TFC President Dr. Bob Myers. “It’s always exciting to have others recognize what we experience on a daily basis, and that’s the wonderful faculty, staff, and students who make TFC a great place to learn.”
