The Sautee Nacoochee Center campus will be buzzing with activity Saturday, September 8th when it hosts its first Touch-A-Truck: Family Safety, Health & Preparedness Fair, coordinated with local and regional emergency services.
This free, family-friendly event will feature hands-on displays of multiple specialty emergency vehicles, helicopter fly-in, fun activities, musical entertainment, free medical testing opportunities, internet safety classes, family support resources and more.
Smokey Bear will be joining career and volunteer first responders to spread the word about safety and being prepared for emergencies.
Other participants include local and regional hospitals and health service providers, CERT volunteers sponsored by Home Depot, White County Public Health and Public Safety, United Way of White County, the Red Cross, the U.S. Forest Service, and area support services and businesses providing information and resources related to health, safety and emergency preparedness.
White County Animal Control will provide rescue information and pet adoption opportunities, and BabyLand General will have free health check-ups for teddy bears, dolls and Cabbage Patch Kids and Babies. Wayne’s Train will be offering rides around the campus.
Free SNCC campus tours will include a scavenger hunt with an opportunity for five families to win $100 cash prizes. Local barbeque; Kona Ice truck; raffle and much more!
