Union County long-time coach Brian Allison now has 100 wins at Union County, thanks to a huge win over neighboring rivals Towns County last Friday night.
Allison, who has been head coach for two different spans at Union (1996-01; 08-Present) with a 6-year stint at Winder-Barrow, has 125 wins in total.
While there are plenty of coaches in the state with more wins, including our very own Sid Maxwell (154 wins) and Lee Shaw (153), none in our area of North Georgia have 100 at the same school.
In fact, Allison is now one of just 40 active coaches in the state to record triple-digit wins at the same school. Strangely, despite all his success in coaching, a playoff win and/or region title has eluded him thanks to tough draws and bad breaks. He might be the best coach in the state who doesn’t have a playoff win to his credit…yet! He’s long overdue, and this might be the year.
