Hazel Carson Loggins, age 96,of Demorest, Georgia, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, following an extended illness at a long term care facility.
Mrs. Loggins was born July 19, 1918, in Tiger, Georgia, to the late Frenchman and Adaline Nicholson Carson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy I. (Rene) Loggins; sons, Wayne and Dean Loggins; brother, Vaughn Carson; sisters, Stella Pardue and Beulah Carson.
She was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church and in her later years attended Amy’s Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Mrs. Loggins is survived by daughters, Gay Abercrombie of Dahlonega, Georgia, and Marie Whitaker of Cleveland, Georgia; son and wife, Reynold and Jean Loggins of Cornelia; sons, Hugh Loggins, Arvel Loggins, Benny Loggins, and Ted Loggins, all of Demorest; sister, Hassie Carson of Clarkesville, Georgia; daughter in law, Debbie Loggins of Demorest; brother, Jay Carson of Clarkesville; sister-in-law, Estelle Barlowe of Talmo, Georgia;a special friend, Donna Canup of Clarkesville; 39 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, in Demorest, Georgia, With Rev. Bill Trotter, Rev. Steve Merck and Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will be the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00–4:00 PM, and 6:00–8:00 PM Monday, March 2, 2015, at the funeral home.
