James Dillashaw, age 90 of Alto, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on December 27, 1927, he was a son of the late Grover and Minnie Miller Dillashaw. Mr. Dillashaw enjoyed walking, reading especially history books and animals especially dogs. He was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. Mr. Dillashaw was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Virgil Dillashaw and Floyd Dillashaw; sisters, Ollie Belle Dillashaw and Vera Vaughn; nieces, Paula Gaye Duncan; nephews, Wayne Dillashaw and Randy Duncan.
Surviving are nieces, Patsy Chitwood, Joyce Armour, and Martha Smith all of Alto; nephews, Danny Duncan of Jacksonville, FL and Dwight Dillashaw of Alto; 15 great nieces and nephews; 21 great-great nieces and nephews; 19 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
