A suspect has been charged in connection with an arson fire that occurred in Habersham County in May.
38-year-old Curtis William Long is charged with one count of first degree arson, according to a media release from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
State Fire Investigators believe Long started a fire between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., on May 31, that heavily damaged a mobile home located at 348 Wright Street in Alto.
The arrest warrant was served to Long at the Habersham County Detention Center where he’s been held since June 3 on unrelated charges. Those charges include simple assault and obstructing or hindering an officer, according to jail records.
The Habersham County Fire Department assisted State Fire Investigators with the investigation.
