An accident and vehicle fire on GA 105/Cannon Bridge Road temporarily shut down part of the road Sunday evening.
Habersham Emergency Services Director Chad Black says a vehicle hit a power pole and caught on fire. The driver was able to get out of the burning vehicle. No one was injured.
The accident happened around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Cannon Bridge and Highway 115.
A severe thunderstorm swept through Habersham County just before the accident happened.
The wreck temporarily knocked out power to some 1,500 Habersham EMC customers in the area. By 7:30 p.m. Sunday, service to all but a handful of those customers had been restored.
