Ashcroft to Deliver TFC commencement address

Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft will deliver the commencement address at Toccoa Falls College on Saturday, May 19.

Ashcroft served as U.S. Attorney General under President George W. Bush, from 2001-2005. Before that he served as Missouri State Auditor, Attorney General, Governor and U.S. Senator.

Ashcroft was at the helm of the U.S. Department of Justice during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He subsequently reorganized the Department to focus on preventing terrorism. During his time as Attorney General the Department disrupted over 150 terrorist plots worldwide.

Within two months of the attacks, Ashcroft’s Justice Department was faced with corporate scandals at ENRON, WorldCom and dozens more. He marshaled the resources of the federal government to bring to justice those guilty of massive corporate fraud.

Ashcroft now serves as founder and chairman of The Ashcroft Group and The Ashcroft Law Firm. He is a Distinguished Professor of Law and Government at Regent University.
