Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School has appointed Bill Rothe as Head of the Middle School.
Rothe has served as the Head of the Middle School at St. John’s Country Day School in Jacksonville, Florida since 2014. He was the Assistant Head of that Middle School for a year prior to becoming the Head.
He was the Middle School Dean from 2006-2008 at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Prior to his time at Ravenscroft, he was a middle school teacher at Meade Middle School in Fort Meade, Maryland.
Rothe was a United States Army Logistics Officer before entering the education field. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University and a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University. He has an extensive background as a lacrosse and wrestling coach.
“Bill Rothe will bring a wealth of middle school teaching and administrative experience to Rabun Gap. He has a warm and approachable personality and will continue the tradition of strong leadership at the Niles Bolton Middle School Complex,” says Dr. Anthony Sgro, Head of School at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School.
Rothe and his wife, Melissa, have a son and a daughter. He’ll assume his duties as Head of Middle School Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School effective July 1, 2018.
