The North Georgia Technical College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Clarkesville Chapter recently competed at the PBL North District Conference.
The delegation of seven traveled to Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin, Ga., and the students competed in various contests and networking events.
Students competing were Ashley Hill of Dillard, Conley Sosebee of Sautee Nacoochee, Daniel Hill of Rabun Gap, Jedidiah Wilson of Rabun Gap, Joe Cordero of Baldwin, Kaycee Walden of McDonough, Kecia Chambers of Baldwin, Rachael Waldrep of Blairsville, Russell Bannister of Clarkesville, Ryan Fountain of Rabun Gap and Susie Berry of Cleveland.
Ashley Hill placed second in Hospitality Management, Sosebee placed fifth in Entrepreneurship Concepts, and first in Management Analysis and Decision Making. Daniel Hill placed first in Financial Services, Wilson placed first in Financial Concepts and second in Marketing Concepts. Cordero placed first in Business Decision Making and first in Justice Administration. Walden placed second in Macroeconomics and fourth in Microeconomics. Chambers placed fourth in Accounting Analysis and Decision Making and third in Computer Concepts. Waldrep placed first in Hospitality Management and first in Project Management. Bannister placed first in Sports Management and Marketing. Fountain placed first in Cyber Security and first in Networking Concepts. Berry placed second in Business Law and first in Parliamentary Procedures.
“We had a great showing of participation and commitment from these students,” says Clarkesville PBL Advisor Tim Green. “We, as a college, had the largest group registered this year and I am personally proud of each and every one of them. I know we will be very well prepared to represent NGTC at our state conference next month.”
Students now move on to compete at the PBL State Leadership Conference in April in Atlanta.
