The blaze broke out around noon at the residence located at 185 Teal Mountain Drive. It’s believed the fire started in the garage area of the home. Flames were showing when fire units arrived, WRWH Radio reports.

No one was at home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported. Wilson and his wife, Karen, lost their house and everything in it.

Donation drive underway

The Bridge Church in Cleveland is spearheading a fundraising drive to help the family. “Dr. Wilson and his family have dedicated their lives to serving our kids and families in White County,” a post to the church’s Facebook page says. “Let’s help them during this time of need.”

Online donations may be made to the Wilsons through the Bridge Church at https://thebridgeonline.securegive.com. Donations also may be made by texting WILSON to 706-717-6111 and following the prompts.

The post advises that giving through The Bridge is secure and will avoid fees charged by other donation sites. It also states 100% of all proceeds received for the Wilsons “will go directly to them.”

The State Fire Investigator is investigating to determine the exact cause of the fire.
