Piedmont Chorale to present annual ‘Lessons and Carols’ concert

Piedmont College will present its 29th Annual Service of Lessons and Carols at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 1–2, in the Chapel on the Demorest campus. The performances are free, and everyone is invited.

The musical celebration of Christmas will feature the 100-voice Piedmont Chorale, directed by Dr. Lauren Ringwall; the Piedmont Brass; and the Piedmont Cantabile singers. The choirs will be accompanied by Dr. John Coble, organ; Kay Harris, piano; Leila Findley, harp; Shelton Hill, flute; Luis Dunn, guitar; and James Geiger, percussion.

The program will include works by David Willcocks, Franz Biebl, Ruth Watson Henderson, Howard Helvey, Josh Bauder, Matthew Culloton, and Dan Forrest, as well as traditional Christmas carols by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and G.F. Handel, with audience participation.

The liturgists for the program will be the Rev. Timothy Garvin-Leighton, Campus Minister. Lectors will include Piedmont students, faculty, and staff members Tim Lytle, Page Dukes, Linda Wofford, Don Gnecco, Jennifer Arbitter, Jeremy Fouts, Kristi Koshuta, Carson Webb, and Bob Glass.
