A single car crash in White County Sunday claimed the life of a Demorest man. 26-year-old Robert Underwood was killed shortly after 8 p.m. in a wreck east of Cleveland.
Underwood was driving a 1988 Toyota Camry eastbound on Black Road towards Lothridge Road, according to Cpl. Spencer Munger of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville. “Mr. Underwood ran a stop sign at the intersection of Lothridge Road and Black Road, traveling across the roadway,” Munger says.
The front of the Camry struck a tree, rotated clockwise and came to a rest in a pasture.
Munger says Underwood was pronounced dead on scene by medical personnel.
