Harris “Pops” Wilson, age 77 of Alto, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Born in Hall County, Georgia on April 4, 1940, he was a son of the late Harvey Roscoe “Bill” and Mary Lou Smith Wilson. Mr. Wilson was employed with the maintenance department with Mt. Vernon Mills with 42 years of service. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed wood working, go cart racing, NASCAR and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Wilson was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Wilson, Harvey Wilson, Harlen Wilson, Lloyd Wilson and James Wilson; sisters, Ruth Smith and Shirley Wilson.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce Ann Wilson of Alto; sons, Tim Wilson of the Fairview Community and Casey Wilson of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Ashley Wilson of Alto; grandchildren and spouses, T.J. & Kellie Wilson and Shanda & Kevin Hudgins; grandchildren, Audry Wilson, Kale Wilson, Kalanie Wilson ,Mariah Wilson, Alyssa Wilson, Lincoln Wilson, Austin Bonillas, Brittney Meeks, Shelby Harris; great grandchildren, Carlie Wilson, Brody Hudgins, Brooke Hudgins and Blake Hudgins; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte & JT Parson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Elrod, Rev. Loyd Martin and Rev. Josh Harrington officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Clint Peterson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
