Batman on big screen TONIGHT at historic theater

For one night only, Batman, will be on the big screen at Clarkesville’s historic Habersham Community Theater (HCT). The classic film starring the famous caped crusader is scheduled for TONIGHT Friday, August 18th at 7:30PM.  Ticket holders will receive a special treat as Batman and his friends are making a special appearance at the event!

Batman is a 1989 American superhero film directed by Tim Burton based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is the first installment of Warner Bros.initial Batman film series. The film stars Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Jack Nicholson as The Joker.  The film takes place early in the title character’s war on crime, and depicts a battle with his arch-nemesis the Joker.

“Our committee agreed that this is arguably the best Batman movie in the series, and we wanted to show it the way it should be shown: on the big screen!” said Mary Beth Horton, Main Street Manager.  Horton added that Batman and his superhero friends would actually be there in person to greet attendees and take photos on the red carpet!   “We are so grateful to have Heroes in Force here in Habersham County.  They bring people together and serve as a positive force for good- true-life superheroes!”

“The lobby of HCT has been transformed into Gotham City,” says Alta Moseley, HCT President. “And, we encourage everyone to dress up! Batman and friends will be judging a costume contest with special prizes.”

The event was planned in conjunction with Friday Night Live, Clarkesville’s Third Friday event. Batman continues Clarkesville Main Street and HCT’s Movies on Main series.

A Classic Cruise-In is taking place in the upper lot of the former courthouse from 6-8pm tonight.  All makes and models welcome, and free to participate.

Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the box office.
