There’s been another delay in the dog custody case against a Clarkesville couple accused of animal cruelty. Teresa and Clarence Bramblett were scheduled to appear in court this morning to answer to a cost of animal care petition filed against them by Habersham County. The judge granted a continuance due to a scheduling conflict with Teresa Bramblett’s attorney, Henry Simmons.
The hearing is now scheduled for Wednesday, August 9 at 9:30 a.m. in Habersham County State Court. This is the second time the hearing has been continued. It was originally scheduled for July 12.
The county is seeking over $25,000 in restitution for the cost of taking care of 30 of the Bramblett’s dogs that were impounded back in April. The dogs were among more than 400 animals seized from the Bramblett’s property near Clarkesville.
