The Great American Solar Eclipse is just one month away and you’re invited to a party at Pitts Park in Clarkesville to watch it unfold!
Now Habersham, Clarkesville Main Street and the Habersham Chamber of Commerce are teaming up with local businesses to present a unique family-oriented eclipse viewing experience. Total Eclipse of the Park is scheduled from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Monday, August 21, at Pitts Park in Clarkesville, GA. It will feature live entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities.
Free water and eclipse viewing glasses will be available at the park.
Habersham County Schools are closed that day due to the eclipse so it’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy a family outing and soak up the experience of this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and grab a picnic lunch. There will be hot dogs, barbecue, pizza, snacks, sodas and snow cones on sale in the park. T-shirts and other eclipse souvenirs will also be available for purchase.
Kick back on the lawn and enjoy LIVE music with Grammy Award nominated pianist/composer John Burke and singer/musician Brian Buffington.
There will be bounce houses and solar-themed art activities for the kids. Heroes in Force will be there, too. Activities are FREE thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
We’re throwing the party. All you have to do is show up.
See you there!
