The Gainesville-based regional health care system ranks 14th overall
Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is one of the “Top 150 Workplaces in Atlanta” for a seventh consecutive year according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC). NGHS is also one of only 25 large companies (more than 500 employees) to make the list.
The recognition is based on direct feedback from NGHS employees collected through a survey conducted by the AJC and its partner, Workplace Dynamics. Some of the feedback from that survey that led to NGHS’ Top Workplaces award included statements such as:
- “I make a difference in the lives of people in our community.”
- “I feel appreciated.”
- “I make a positive difference in my patients’ lives.”
- “I wholeheartedly agree with the vision and mission of the organization and that every decision is made with that in mind.”
“NGHS’ employees bring their best every day,” says president and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System, Carol Burrell. “Employees’ passion for excellence and improving the health in our community is why we have been rated one of the “Top Workplaces in Atlanta” for seven consecutive years – and we couldn’t be prouder.”
More than 2,500 companies were nominated or asked to participate in the 2017 survey conducted by the AJC and Workplace Dynamics. Workplace Dynamics then surveyed almost 60,000 employees from finalist companies. Each company was graded using employees’ responses to several questions about factors such as work conditions, management, pay, benefits and career paths.
NGHS currently is in talks to potentially acquire Habersham County Medical Center. It already owns hospitals in Gainesville, Barrow County and Braselton. NGHS also operates a number of outpatient locations throughout Northeast Georgia including in Cleveland, Dahlonega, Buford and Dawsonville.
