The Truett McConnell baseball team was honored with the 2017 All-Conference awards that were announced by the league office Wednesday evening.
Chris Carden was named the First Team Designated Hitter as well as a Second Team Pitcher for the league.
Greg Elder and Tate Gaines were also named to the All-Conference Second Team for their respective positions. The Bears also had three conference Gold Glove winners: Davis Dasher, Andrew Fogarty and Patrick Overstreet.
Austin Bishop was named to the Champions of Character Team for Truett McConnell, while six players were named to the All-Academic Team. Bishop, Carden, Fogarty, Gaines, Casey Guilliams and Michael Long were named to the All-Academic Team.
Bryan’s Justin Morhardt was named Player of the Year, and Enrique Zamora from Reinhardt was named Pitcher of the Year. Wade Weinburger and Collin Ridout from Bryan and Tennessee Wesleyan were named Freshman and Newcomer of the Year, respectively. Point’s John Tyler was named Coach of the Year.
