Warrants have been issued for a White County man wanted in connection with Wednesday’s bank robbery in Cornelia.
The suspect is identified as 47-year old Michael Anthony Gordon. He’s the same man the Hall County Sheriff’s Department has active warrants on for robbing the United Community Bank in Clermont on April 5, 2017.

At 2:30 p.m. on April 26, 2017 police say Gordon robbed the South State Bank branch inside the Ingles grocery store in Cornelia. He told the tellers he had a concealed weapon and demanded money. The suspect then left the store and got into a small, dark SUV. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Warrants were issued against Gordon today for armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
“This case is continuing to be investigated and no further information is expected to be released,” according to Cornelia Police Chief Chad Smith.
