For the second time in two-and-a-half years there’s a vacancy at the helm of Habersham EMC. The cooperative announced today that CEO Jonathan Cantrell has resigned.
His resignation is effective immediately.
HEMC Board of Directors Chairman Rick Wood says Cantrell resigned “to seek other interests and opportunities.” He adds, “The HEMC Board of directors wants to thank Mr. Cantrell for his many years of exceptional service to the co-op and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Cantrell was named HEMC’s interim CEO in October 2014 after the sudden resignation of Todd Peacock. Cantrell was named full-time to the post six months later, in April of 2015.
Cantrell was with the local cooperative for over 15 years. He served as HEMC’s Information Technology Manager prior to his promotion as CEO.
The Habersham EMC Board of Directors will now work to hire his successor. An interim CEO has not yet been named.
