A motorcycle driver was seriously injured Tuesday night in a wreck in Mt. Airy.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, 32-year old Lemarico Markeye Bowen was traveling north on Dicks Hill Parkway on a 2002 Kawasaki Ninja at an apparent high rate of speed when he lost control in a curve. He crossed over the center line and ran onto the west shoulder of the road.
Trooper 1st Class John Crawford reports Bowen continued traveling out of control on the grassy shoulder for some 250 feet before re-entering the roadway. At that point his bike overturned several times.
Bowen was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown into the northbound lane where he came to a final rest.
The accident happened around 8:15 p.m.
Bowen was transported to Habersham County Medical Center with serious injuries.
