In all, 25 Habersham County students in grades K-12 competed in this year’s Talent Showcase. The event is held annually as a fundraiser for the Cornelia Kiwanis scholarship fund. Event co-chair Barbara Traver says this year’s talent show raised a record amount, $1,078, which will fully fund one of the scholarships.
Smagur will now advance to the state competition in Albany, Ga. on April 29 where she’ll have a chance to win a $3,500 scholarship.
