It’s been a solid start to the 2017 season for the Habersham Central Lady Raiders.
Melissa Carroll’s girls have gone 4-2-2 overall and 2-1 in Region 8-AAAAAA play this year, thanks in large part to the performances of senior midfielders Lindsey Lewallen and Kindra Purdy. Lewallen and Purdy were named the BLITZ Players of the Week on Monday in recognition for their season performances to date.
Lewallen has 9 goals and 4 assists on the year, while Purdy has 12 goals and 2 assists. The Lady Raiders have won two straight over Gainesville and Winder-Barrow, and have scored 30 goals total this season (36 counting the season-opening scrimmage).
Next up for the girls is Apalachee (5-3) and Dacula (6-1), presenting a tough week for the Lady Raiders.
