Rabun Lady Wildcats punch ticket to Final 4

Playing in the Elite 8 for the fifth time in nine year, the Lady Wildcats finally got over that hump with a 70-54 win over Fitzgerald Tuesday night in Tiger.

#2-ranked Rabun County (28-2) outscored #4-ranked Fitzgerald (22-3) in every quarter. The Lady Cats took the lead for good late in the first quarter and held a 31-27 narrow lead at the break.

However, senior Savanna Scott (19 pts; 12 in 2nd half) caught fire to open the second half, accounting for nine points in an 11-2 early run in the third. The Lady Cats led by as many as 18 in the second half and pulled away down the stretch.

Senior Tessa Matheson also poured in 17 points, while sophomores Georgia Stockton and Brooke Henricks added 10 and nine, respectively.
