Cain family thanks home community for love and support following son’s tragic death
It’s been almost a month since the tragic accident in Cleveland that took the life of 3-year old Easton Cain. The pre-schooler was killed in a Cleveland grocery store parking lot after being pinned between two vehicles by an alleged drunk driver.
“We are grateful to live in a community that gathers around those in need, and to have friends and family that love one another.”
In the wake of the tragedy, the community has rallied around the Cain family in a variety of ways, offering up emotional and financial support. In addition to prayers, people created a makeshift memorial at the site of Easton’s death, lined his funeral route in a public display of support, held fundraisers at local restaurants and online.
A Go Fund me page set up for the Cain family on the day of Easton’s death has raised nearly $50,000.
Now, Easton’s family is speaking out.
Easton’s maternal grandparents, Ricky and Stephanie Abernathy, and the Cain Family issued the following statement thanking the Northeast Georgia community and beyond for the tremendous outpouring of love and support.
