Victor Anderson and Ed Nichols will lead this year’s Habersham County Board of Commissioners.
The five-member panel unanimously elected Anderson as Chair during their first meeting of the new year on Monday. Nichols was elected Vice-Chair by a 3-2 vote.
Afterwards, Anderson took to social media to thank his predecessor and ask for prayer.
“We look forward to a very busy and historic year for Habersham County,” he wrote on his official District 3 Commissioner Facebook page. “Please pray for wisdom, patience and guidance for me and the entire Commission.”
Also during Monday’s meeting, the commission voted to reappoint the County Attorney and County Clerk and filled the following appointments:
- Planning Commission- Benny Pate
- Board of Tax Assessors – Sherwood Jessup
- Chestatee-Chattahoochee RC&D – Commissioner Andrea Harper
An appointment to the County Recreation Board was tabled until February.
