Aida Viola Nix Jaworski, age 93 of Alto, took her Heavenly flight on December 28, 2016.
Born in Blairsville, Georgia on March 31, 1923 she was a daughter of the late John Frank and Hattie England Nix. Mrs. Jaworski grew up during The Great Depression and lost four of her siblings, Homer, Dennis, Clyde, and Mae, during that time. She met her loving husband, the late Frank Jaworski, during World War II. She was then working as a Rosie the Riveter, building airplanes at Lockheed in Marietta. A part of the love story between her and her husband is published in the Rosie the Riveter Love Stories book. She has also been included in the History of Union County, Blairsville, Georgia book. She also retired from the poultry industry where she worked for several years.
When her health would allow her, she would volunteer and work for Meals on Wheels at the Habersham Senior Center. She was a willing and cheerful faithful worker who had a great outlook on life and true friend to all she knew. Her kindness and generosity has touched many hearts. Mrs. Jaworski was an active member of Alto Baptist Church and the Red Hat Club and was known as “my favorite aunt” to all her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Jaworski; brothers, Homer Nix, Dennis Nix, Clyde Nix, and Birt Nix; sisters, Mae Nix, Cora Brown, Lydia Saxon, and Elvia Brookshire; great grandchildren, Jimmy Sebastain Tackett and Autumn Wade.
