18 Habersham County residents are among the 221 students who recently received degrees from Piedmont College. Commencement ceremonies were held Saturday, December 10, in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center at the campus in Demorest.

The Commencement speaker was Susan Smith-Patrick, Professor of Education at Piedmont College and the 2016 recipient of the Vulcan Materials Company Teaching Excellence Award.
President James F. Mellichamp and Board Chairman Thomas A. “Gus” Arrendale III presented diplomas to the graduates.
