Claudia Jeannie Autry Rafinski, age 68, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 2 PM until 4 PM and from 6 PM until 8 PM.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 4, 1948, Mrs. Rafinski was the daughter of the late Luther R. and Ellie Jeannette Hardige Autry. She was retired from Lee Arrendale State Prison where she worked in personnel. A member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Mrs. Rafinski liked to travel with her family and spending time with her friends. She loved investing in in the lives of others, especially her grandchildren. They loved playing board games and having fun together. Claudia enjoyed reading and watching SEC football, especially the Georgia Bulldogs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Roy V. Rafinski and her sister Marlene Roddy.
Mrs. Rafinski is survived by daughter and son-in-law Meghan and Mark Wade of Demorest, son and daughter-in-law Jason and Rachel Rafinski of Woodstock, sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Tommy Deal of Dawsonville and grandchildren Erin and Hallie Chestnutt, Cody and Karsen Wade, and Ava Rafinski.
