James Shore Thacker, 73, of Demorest, died December 6, 2016 after a brief illness. A private memorial service will be held.
Mr. Thacker was born in Turnerville, Georgia to the late Harry and Stella Shore Thacker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Miriam Thacker, and a sister Miranda.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Cloid and Jack Frye of Clarkesville, brother and sister-in-law Max and Gloria Thacker of Mount Airy. Niece and husband, Melissa and James Wyers of Blacksburg, Virginia, Niece, Jennifer Thacker, of Mount Airy, Niece Selena Burke, of Mount Airy, Nephew, Dexter Frye of Cleveland, Georgia, Nephew Mack Palmer of Clarkesville, Georgia and Nephew Eric Palmer of Panama City, Florida and several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his friend, John Andrews of Demorest.
The family will receive friends at their respective homes.
