Piedmont’s Reich Repeats as NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Selection

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has released its 2016 All-Region honors with Piedmont College’s CASSIDY REICH appearing on the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region listing for a second straight season.

Reich’s honor comes following a 2016 season that saw the sophomore forward lead the Lady Lions in scoring once again with 11 goals and four gamewinners including her second half goal in the USA South Championship Game. That score handed the Largo, Florida native Conference Tournament MVP honors for a second time in as many seasons as well.

This marks the 7th time a player has earned NSCAA All-Region status under Head Coach Stephen Andrew with Reich having done so in 2015 as well joining MICHAELA GARDNER (2015), Laura Goodwin (2013), Justine Clay (2011), Kaitlyn Induni (2010), and Katie Porter (2009).

Also named to the All-Conference team in 2016, Reich took 3rd Team honors on the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region listing after earning 1st Team honors in her freshman year. The accolade is the third bestowed on Reich from the NSCAA as she was also named the National Player of the Week during the 2015 season for a five-goal performance over a two-game stretch.

The Lady Lions finished the 2016 season with a 15-7-1 overall record including a 10-3-1 record in USA South play on the way to winning the league’s Championship Tournament for a second straight season.

Piedmont also made its third appearance in the NCAA National Tournament in the last four seasons and the program’s fourth showing overall with a selection to the field after its 2-1 win over Salem in the USA South Championship Game.
