Truett McConnell Bears junior Willie Stallworth has been nominated for the 2017 Allstate National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Good Works Team as announced by the association Wednesday morning.
Stallworth is one of an all-time high 278 student athletes nominated for the award.
According to the NABC, the Allstate NABC and WBCA Good Works Teams recognizes players at all levels of college basketball whose charitable involvement and altruistic acts stand out amongst all other student-athletes participating in the sport.
The teams will be voted on by a voting panel highlighted by former college basketball student-athletes Clark Kellogg (Ohio State University / CBS Sports) and Len Elmore (University of Maryland / CBS Sports / ESPN), as well as former head coaches Bobby Cremins (Georgia Tech / College of Charleston) and Seth Greenberg (Virginia Tech University). The panel will vote on five NCAA Division I recipients and five from Divisions II, III and NAIA, and the winners will be unveiled in February.
Stallworth will hit the floor with the Truett McConnell Bears basketball team tonight at 7:30 p.m. against No. 11 Union in the Bear Cave. Tonight’s doubleheader also serves as Jack P. Nix Elementary School Night.
