The Lady Raiders needed a second half surge, and defense answered the call, holding the visiting Lady Tigers to 16 second half points in a 55-42 win.
After trailing 16-7 after one quarter, Habersham Central bridged the gap in the second, trailing just 26-23 heading into the break.
The scoring was fairly even in the third, but the Lady Raiders entered the final stanza down just two points (36-34). The fourth quarter was dominated by the home team, as the girls played excellent offense and defense, outscoring Dawson 21-6 in the final frame.
The outburst in the fourth gave the Lady Raiders the 55-42 win, but the game was much closer than it appeared. With the victory, Habersham is now 5-1 overall on the season and have won two in a row.
After a 3-0 start, the lone loss for the Lady Raiders was a slight 57-55 loss at Chestatee on November 21. Hab Central rebounded with an impressive 60-58 win at Madison County the following evening.
Habersham next plays on December 2 against Chestatee, this time back at home. The girls are 2-0 so far defending the home court. The Lady Raiders average over 61 points per game on offense and allow just over 41.
