Cornelia man among dozens arrested in child exploitation sting

A Cornelia man is among more than two dozen people arrested in a child exploitation sting conducted by law enforcement in Georgia and Alabama.

Operation Southern Impact targeted people who sexually exploit children by using the internet, according to the GBI. A total of 30 people have been arrested, 17 in Georgia.

The Georgia arrests were for crimes related to computer pornography and child exploitation. The GBI says 34-year old Daniel Ridley of Cornelia is among those arrested.

The joint investigation was coordinated by the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. It focused on those who possess and distribute child pornography and those who are sexually exploiting children in other ways using the internet.
