Applications are now being accepted for this year’s Toys for Kids program sponsored by the Cornelia Kiwanis Club. Low income families with children ages birth through 5th grade may apply.
Applications may be picked up at any public elementary school in Habersham County, the Board of Education office in Clarkesville, Sharing and Caring in Clarkesville and Cornelia, Habersham Head Start in Cornelia and the United Way office on Level Grove Road in Cornelia.
The application deadline is Tuesday, November 15th.
Parents with children in Habersham County Schools or Head Start should turn in their applications to their child’s school. Parents with children who reside in Habersham who are not yet school age or are in other schools, should turn in their applications to Sharing and Caring or United Way.
Cornelia Kiwanis expects to serve 600 children this year. Parents will be notified by letter after December 2nd as to the status of their application.

Donations of new or gently used toys, books or stuffed animals may also be dropped off at the South State Bank locations in Clarkesville and Cornelia, Hayes Automotive in Baldwin, Clarkesville Veterinary Clinic and Cornelia Veterinary Hospital, as well as any of the county’s public schools.
