TFS coaches select Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have named four Indians of the Week for the week of October 17-22.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh grader Charlie Cody of Cornelia was named an Indian of the Week by middle school basketball coach Lowell Hamilton. “Charlie has hit the floor running with great leadership and play,” Hamilton said. “He has set the example that we are looking for in all of our players in our basketball program.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Middle school swim coach Annette Cochran selected seventh grader Shelby Cochran of Demorest as her Indian of the Week. “With no swim background, Shelby is showing her potential for this year’s swim season,” Cochran said. “She is becoming a GREAT athlete by showing up to practice on time and working hard the entire practice. She listens to instruction and tries her best to correct what she is doing wrong. She has shown determination and dedication this week.”

VARSITY BOY

Freshman Ajani Knowles of Buford was named an Indian of the week by cross country coach Scott Neal. Knowles led all TFS junior varsity runners by placing 12th of 46 at the recent TFS Harrier Harvest meet. Knowles ran the course in 22:53. “Ajani’s improvement has a direct correlation to his elevated practice effort, running with a faster group and confidence that he can make a difference,” Neal said.

VARSITY GIRL

Freshman Sophie Alexander of Sautee Nacoochee was also selected by Neal as an Indian of the Week. “Sophie set a personal course best at the Harrier Harvest by running the course in 24:57 to place 12th in the varsity race,” Neal said. “This moved her to No. 4 on the TFS farm course legacy list for TFS girls. The previous week she ran her an all-course personal record of 23:22 at the Mountain Invite.”
