The South Habersham Middle School Intermediate Band, made of 7th and 8th grade band students, performed Friday, March 6 in the District 14 Large Group Performance Evaluation held at East Jackson High School.  The SHMS band is directed by Mr. James Geiger.

Considering what everyone has gone through in the last few weeks with no school due to winter weather, these students worked very hard to pull together a challenging program of music. The band received an excellent rating on stage and a superior rating in sight-reading. The head judge also gave the band accolades for coming to the event in light of so many groups who could not go because of the weather.

A special thank you to Daphne Penick, Adam Bagwell, and the teachers and staff of South Habersham Middle School for allowing the band to rehearse during the week to make this performance possible.

Also, thank you to our superintendent, board members, and our community stakeholders who support all of our Fine Arts programs in the Habersham County School System. Without you, none of this could be possible.
