(Cleveland)- Classes will resume Thursday at White County High School and Ninth Grade Academy. White County School officials say water pressure, in an excessive amount, is what prompted the cancellation of classes at the two schools Wednesday.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeff Wilson said, a defective pressure regulator on the main water line at the high school allowed the water pressure to built up to around 100 PSI.
Wilson said, a student noticed something wrong late Tuesday afternoon and notified school officials. According to Wilson when maintenance workers were checking the bathrooms at the school a custodian was injured when a commode exploded from the high pressure. Wilson said, he did require stitches from a cut.
Maintenance officials had to order a new pressure valve and that was installed Wednesday afternoon.
