Tips from concerned citizens lead to Clarkesville drug arrest

A Clarkesville man faces drug charges after tips from concerned citizens led to his arrest. 49-year old Donnie Dixon was arrested Thursday following a search at a residence located at 4127 Highway 17.

A press release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office says ARDEO agents and Habersham County Sheriff’s deputies conducted the search “acting on tips received from concerned citizens.” They recovered methamphetamine, marijuana and loaded firearms according to ARDEO.

Estimated value of the items seized, $1,000.

Dixon is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of firearms during the commission of a crime.

He was transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.

Authorities say the investigation continues.
