NGTC to honor local veterans Nov. 10th

Special Veterans Day events planned on all three NGTC campuses in Clarkesville, Toccoa and Blairsville

NGTC’s Student Government Association (SGA) has partnered with the NGTC Foundation to host a special event this Veterans Day to honor all students, staff and community members who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

All Veterans are invited to attend a breakfast in their honor on Thursday, November 10, from 9:30 to 10 am in the Ramsay-Hunter Dining Hall Annex on the Clarkesville Campus. In addition to the free breakfast, as a token of NGTC’s appreciation for their service, all veterans in attendance will receive a U.S. Flag lapel pin.

At 10 am, following the Veterans-only breakfast, the public is invited to join NGTC for a special program on the Clarkesville Campus Quad. Guest speaker, Erika Rayford, will lead the ceremony which will include Presenting of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, The Star-Spangled Banner, and the reading of a poem by a veteran.

Events are also planned for NGTC’s Currahee and Blairsville campuses on Nov. 10. The Currahee Campus will host a Veterans Coffee at 9:30 am, and the Blairsville Campus will have cake and punch in the Great Hall from noon until 2 pm. All veterans attending will receive a flag lapel pin.
